Naomi Ackerman, founder and executive director of Advot was born in New York City and raised in Beer-Sheva, Israel. With over thirty years of experience as a storyteller, actress, consultant, facilitator, professional clown, and stilt walker, Naomi creatively and innovatively promotes peace and dialogue in various international and interfaith settings.

Naomi wrote, directed, produced, and performed the critically acclaimed one-woman show "Flowers Aren't Enough."

Naomi's work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the KCET and Union Bank Local Heroes Award, the International Women Achievers Award for Community Leadership, and the Covenant Award for Excellence in Jewish Education. She is honored to be a Speranza Foundation Lincoln City fellow and an AJWS (American Jewish World Service) Global Justice Fellow.

Naomi will be accompanied by a formerly incarcerated youth who has turned her life around and will graduate college this May, and an Advot staff member who currently works inside the walls of the probation juvenile lock-up facilities.
