Will you help us honor our history?
Kehillat Israel is partnering with Beth Shir Shalom to launch welcome circles for Afghan refugees and we need your help. The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) was founded in 1881 to assist Jews fleeing pogroms in Russia and Eastern Europe. Today, they honor that history by helping refugees worldwide escape persecution and resettle in safety.
KI and Beth Shir Shalom are working with HIAS to launch two Welcome Circles for Afghan Refugees arriving in Los Angeles next month. With your donations, we can secure housing, necessities like clothing and furniture, and help our refugee families access government benefits such as schooling, food, and healthcare. As a community, we want to make sure we can truly provide them with everything they will need to thrive in their new home. Anything you can do will have a tremendous impact.
