FOSTER YOUTH

Are you, or is someone you know interested in supporting former foster youth who are becoming independent young adults?

If so…
The Foster Youth Alumni Co-Mentoring Project offers a new and exciting way of mentoring, we call it “Co-Mentoring”. We’re looking for people who are interested in offering time, companionship, and their life-experience to young adults who are transitioning out of foster care.

Co-Mentoring empowers everyone involved by offering opportunities for personal growth and development. As a Co-Mentor, you will receive insight, training and tools that support the changes and transitions in life that every human encounters.

Are you intrigued? Attend one of our upcoming Orientations to learn how you can become a Co-Mentor and support foster youth alumni when they need you most.

IMAGINE LA

Imagine LA harnesses the power of volunteer mentorship teams (from faith communities, companies and other committed organizations) and existing community resources to empower families to transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

Acting as the facilitator of our two-year, highly structured mentorship program, Imagine LA trains faith community volunteers in homeless sensitivity and mentorship, matches them with families exiting homelessness, links them to a full spectrum of existing social services and resources, and guides them in a step-by-step process. The program empowers faith communities of all types throughout Los Angeles County to help families experiencing homelessness in a meaningful, lasting way. Families and volunteers are given a safe and guided opportunity to work alongside one another to address the families’ underlying issues, needs and goals, helping them to permanently exit the cycle of poverty, become self-sufficient and thrive over a two-year period of time.
