Tikkun Olam Committee Meeting – October

October 11 | 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Join with us as we work to move the world toward justice, peace and healing— and strengthen our connections to one another, Judaism and to the world at large.

“Tikkun olam” literally refers to world healing. Judaism teaches that we are partners with God in the work of creation and that we have an obligation to care for the earth and its inhabitants. Kehillat Israel believes that a fundamental part of its purpose is to ensure its members are engaged, individually and collectively, in meaningful and important work that recognizes and promotes the sanctity of the earth and the dignity of every human being.

Through education, advocacy and direct service, KI strives to engage its members on a variety of social justice topics, including civil rights, economic justice, climate change and environmental sustainability, public health and safety, and genocide. As a community, we work to move the world toward justice, peace and healing and strengthen our connections to one another, to Judaism and to the world at large.
